What is MAC?

The Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the Medical Library Association (MAC-MLA) is an organization of health sciences librarians and other information professionals serving the District of Columbia, Maryland, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia and Western Pennsylvania.

The purpose of MAC is to promote excellence in health sciences librarianship in the Mid-Atlantic region. The Chapter also serves as a vital link to the national activities of the Medical Library Association.

  • MAC Scholars Program: The MAC Conference Scholars program is open to any MLS or MIS student (when student specific awards are not available), new librarian, or paraprofessional in the Mid-Atlantic Chapter region who has a demonstrated interest in health sciences librarianship or medical informatics as a career. This conference scholarship provides:
    • Travel, lodging, and registration for the MAC Annual Meeting in October
    • Complimentary MAC membership for 1-year
    • Participation as a member of a Chapter committee and involvement in Chapter projects

The MAC Executive Board, Committees, and membership work to:
